Origin
Why RatioPro exists.
For over fifteen years, our team has worked one-on-one with consumers to help them understand their credit profiles and challenge inaccurate information reported by the three consumer reporting agencies. We've read thousands of credit reports, mapped thousands of dispute strategies, and answered the same question thousands of times:
The answer, most of the time, wasn't a dispute strategy. It was a math problem. Utilization was too high. DTI was locking them out of the next loan. And there wasn't a clean, honest tool to fix either.
RatioPro is what we built for those clients. A quiet, methodical way to move the numbers that actually decide credit outcomes — without paying a consolidation company a percentage of the debt they're trying to escape.
Philosophy
What we won't do.
We won't ask for your bank credentials. The industry standard is aggregator services that harvest your login info to scrape your accounts. We think that's an unnecessary risk for a problem that manual entry solves in 10 minutes.
We won't sell your data. There is no ad model. There is no "anonymized data" partnership. There is no analytics vendor with a copy of your card list. You pay us. We build the tool. That's the entire business.
We won't make you feel bad to keep you engaged. Most finance apps use guilt, streaks, and shame to drive retention. RatioPro is designed to eventually leave you alone — because the goal is for you to not need an app to do this at all.
Method
Why utilization-first.
Most debt payoff strategies come from the personal-finance literature of the 1990s: pay the smallest balance first (snowball), or the highest interest first (avalanche). Both are fine. Neither is optimized for the number that has the biggest short-term impact on your credit score.
That number is credit utilization — the percentage of your available revolving credit that you're using. It counts for roughly 30% of your FICO score. Unlike payment history (which takes years to rebuild), utilization can change in a single billing cycle.
RatioPro's plan generator distributes your monthly payment across cards in the order that lowers your utilization ratio fastest — accounting for statement dates, credit limits, and the specific way FICO models weigh worst-card versus overall utilization. It's not a magic algorithm. It's the same math a good credit consultant would do by hand — done in seconds, updated every month.
